With great love, the Ureña Rojas family run the small-scale coffee farm Café Rivense in Chirripó, Costa Rica. The new generation of sons, Ricardo, Louis and Esteban are taking over the farm from their father Regulo and mother Isabell who have produced coffee for over 18 years. In 2005 they built a so-called micro mill which allows for them to process and export both their own and their neighbours’ coffee. Since then, they have begun experimenting a lot with different lots and processing methods with the ambition of increasing quality.

In 2019 they produced 2 out of the 20 best coffees in Costa Rica – a fantastic conversion from their previous commercial grade coffee to high grade, naturally produced, specialty coffee.
